Who is Mahakrishan Lohar?

Mahakrishan Lohar is a design lead based in Ahmedabad, India with over 10 years of experience across UX/UI, brand identity and front-end development. He currently leads design at E2M and is available for select freelance and consulting projects.

Where is Mahakrishan Lohar based and does he work remotely?

I am based in Ahmedabad, India and work remotely with clients across India, Australia and the US. Time zones have never been a barrier to good collaboration and most of my international projects run smoothly over async communication and scheduled calls.

What I do

What kind of design work does Mahakrishan Lohar do?

I work across four main areas: product and UX design for digital products, design systems and component libraries, brand identity and visual design, and AI prototyping where I build real working things fast. I also take on design leadership roles for teams that need senior design direction without a full-time hire.

Do you really design and build with AI tools?

Every day. I use Cursor, Claude, v0 and Figma Make to prototype and ship in days what used to take weeks. The craft does not change but the speed does. I build real clickable things, not just mockups, and that changes how feedback cycles work entirely.

Can you take a product from idea all the way to a finished interface?

Yes. I have done it many times across different industries. I am comfortable leading the full process from early research and rough ideas through information architecture, visual design and final handoff. I do not need to be handed a perfect brief to get started.

Do you create design systems and component libraries?

Yes and it is one of the things I enjoy most. I have built and maintained design systems at scale including component libraries, token systems and documentation that help product teams ship consistently and faster. Good design systems save teams months of repeated work.

Do you also write front-end code?

I do. I build working prototypes in HTML and CSS and use AI coding tools to go further and faster. I am not a full-stack developer but I speak the language fluently, my handoffs are always code-ready and I have shipped actual websites not just designs.

Are you available for freelance or consulting work?

Yes, for the right projects. I am selective about what I take on outside my main role but I am always happy to hear what you are building. If the work is interesting and the timing works, we will figure it out. Send me a message and let us see.

How do we start working together?

Send me a message at mahakrishan21@hotmail.com with a short description of what you are building or what problem you are trying to solve. I reply within a day. From there we get on a short call, align on scope and timeline, and go from there. No long intake forms, no waiting two weeks for a response.

How long does a typical design project take?

It depends on what we are building together. A focused brand identity usually takes two to four weeks. A product design engagement from research through to handoff is typically six to twelve weeks. I give a realistic timeline after hearing the actual brief, not a generic estimate before I know anything.

Can you handle multiple projects at the same time?

Yes. That is the day job. I lead several products simultaneously at E2M and take on select external projects alongside that. I am deliberate about what I say yes to so that every project gets proper attention and not whatever is left over.

How do you price your work?

Pricing depends on scope, timeline and what the project actually needs. I do not publish a rate card because one size does not fit all design work. But I am completely upfront about cost in the first conversation and there are no surprises later. If we are not a good fit budget-wise, I will tell you that early.

I volunteer at uxindiaconf, Google Developers Group Ahmedabad, Google Developers Group Cloud Ahmedabad, Serverless Ahmedabad and WordCamp Ahmedabad among others. I genuinely enjoy the design and tech community in Ahmedabad and show up for it regularly.
